Geometry proofs:

In math class,we are learing geometric proofs.Geometric proofs prove postulates that are statements that are basic truths assumed to be true (due to their obvious nature). This is because you use postulates to prove geometric propositions,you really can't use a geometric proof to prove them (as you'd be using circular logic).Geometric proofs can prove angles,triangles,lines,shapes,and etc.The most common form of explicit proof in highschool geometry is a two column proof consists of five parts: the given, the proposition, the statement column, the reason column, and the diagram (if one is given).

Reasons in proofs like geometric or algebric are explaing what you are doing in the statements side.Some reasons will be properties in math.These are some examples of the properties are addition property of equality,subtraction property of equality,multiplication property of equality,division property of equaliity,substitution property,distributive property,reflexive property,symmetric property,transitive property,segment addition postulate,and etc.

Statements are a two-column geometric proof consists of a list of statements, and the reasons that we know those statements are true.Every step of the proof (that is, every conclusion that is made) is a row in the two-column proof.Statements show each step of solving the equation like shown in the picture.A statement that is accepted without a proof in geometry is called a postulate.A statement, also known as an axiom, which is taken to be true without proof.
